Environment Inspiration- photographs research

This is a set of photographs taken by Wei Gensheng of the Shanghai city landscape.It makes me think of "the day after tomorrow" and the tone of a metropolis . The second image give me an camera shot inspire for the elevator  in my story reaching to the space station as well.

Environment concept in my mind

This is my first environment concept in my mind, of how the world looks like and the world can see the upper class living high in space to build more tension of the wealth distribution and people want to be start the fight.I am going to develop in more thumbnails.

From Script to Screen - Jack's Character

This is my first Design about my main character-Jack, he is a boy that grown in lowest family, but he is strong and wise. Welcome for comment please.

From Script to Screen-Story Inspiration

When I am creating my story, it always makes me think about the "Les Miserables" with a strong musical foundation and revolution background, talking about the race between the poors and the riches and waiting for the right timing to fight back. Although this end up with a sad ending, I really like this film and it helps me a lot for my story building.

Visual Inspiration of the story

As I was thinking how the lowest class travel to the space station which can maintain a group of people at the same time, the lift comes to my mind. Also I remember some of the scientists are inventing the space lift in the future and the lift appeared in "Charlie and the chocolate factory" gives me an idea of the design too. 

On the other hand I also think about the design of the stilt factory and because my story change the time to a more future, morden ages so it will look more clean and light atmosphere in wood.

 The space station I would like to have a same set of design with the lift and I am thinking about it is making with the glass in diamond shape which represent noble and eternal. The station will be covered by a really thin of gold which protect the radiation from the sun.

For the stilts, I think it would not show a lot in the animatic except the factory, so I will more focus on the scale, hight and the clothing of people with stilts and without the stilts.

Title: Above the ground

[Logline]

The lowest class boy dream to live in the highest place

[Premise]

revolution of the wealth distribution happen in this country, government define their classes by the stilts.

[Outline of the story]

[Scene1]

-Crowded on the streets, middle class citizen and business man wearing their stilts walking on the street.

-The people are poor only allow them wear shoes.

[Scene2]

-The highest upper class, 1% richest people and the most talented people in the country, are living in the space  station.

-They have the best service and support from the rest of the people in the country and the have authority to  make order to the people on earth. 

-Because there are so many people under them, they don't work.

[Scene3]

-Jack works in the stilts factory.

-He finished work and back home, take off his shoes, he looking at it and sigh.

-He is the lowest class which the government don't even give them respect to have a pair of stilts.

-When he walk on the street, there are only few people are the same eye level as him.

-People giggling when they look down to the lowest class.

-He unconvinced where he is and drink.

[Scene4]

-The next day when he is working he see a first class man asking the  carpenter to design his own stilts.

-He is looking at the whole situation,he is really angry.

-He group all the lower class people to a secret meeting to destroy the first class.

[Scene5]

-At night they steal the stilts from the factory as a weapon and travel up to the space by the lift.

-They get in successfully and the people in space station are frightened as they never think that is going to  happen 

 -There are many of them that the first class loss the control .

[Scene6]

- The lower class win and they bring the first class to be the lowest for ten years.

-They close the space station and bring those money and resources back to a balance for the country.

Everyone got the own stilts except the first class.
