I'm drawn right away to your thumbnails with the string graphical backgrounds - I think they're really working and they're visually rich. Really like the Geefwee influence. If you haven't seen it already, this animation might give you additional confidence in terms of combining bold surface pattern and graphical elements:

You don't talk in your OGR about the practical ways in which you might explain facts to your audience (i.e. voice over and/or text). It would be good to hear your thoughts on this.
Short version: I like the style direction, so develop it further! :)
